Puerto Princesa, Palawan

Last Friday, March 2, 2012 we went to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, It was the most awaited vacation since my brother willl be spending some RnR in the Philippines for just 2 ½ weeks. So I have to map out schedules to make the most out of it. It was supposed to be a 10-person vacation that ended up to 15…some were supposed to joined it but due to time and money constraints, it didn’t pushed through.  Anyway, it was a first for everybody to be in Palawan.  We have two flights going to Palawan; first team boarded Air Phil while the second, boarded Air Zest.

We all met in Microtel Puerto Princesa where we are staying for our vacation.  The place was beautiful with the affordable room rates.

The beach was nice, since my children love to walk by the beach looking for hermit crabs and starfishes. Our trip was packed with schedules. After lunch we went on our city tour, we first went to Butterfly farm to heat things up. The girls enjoyed seeing the butterflies and other insects.

Then we headed to the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center where the crocodiles were staying.  Josh and Jada had no qualms holding a crocodile and a Palawan bear cat.

We were able to see Valentino that was captured last Valentine’s day in the wild.  Valentina was a no show since she was in the breeding site.  Since everybody was hungry we went to Baker’s Hill where we enjoyed eating our snacks and enjoying the site.  The last stop was Pasalubong center where everybody bought something for people in Manila and abroad.  We passed by the Town’s cathedral but wasn’t able to step in due to attire restrictions.  We ate at Kinabuch, Kuya Jojo ordered the woodworm or more commonly knows as Tamilok. A few of us; Kuya Jojo, Niño, Jada and I gamely tried the exotic food. They breaded and deep-fried it so it looks a little bit appetizing.

We had a fast dinner since the Microtel van was picking us up in an hour. Tricycle ride cost P150.00 so better ride in the free shuttle. Everybody was tired when we reached the hotel; some of us sip hot chocolate before heading to bed while Kuya John when on swimming by the hotel’s swimming pool before calling it a day.

Our second day, Saturday was divided into two groups. Kuya Jojo and Niño went to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, which was the Puerto Princesa Underground River.

Our group composed mainly by the kids went to Honda Bay for our island hopping.

Lunch was provided by the tours. It was a tiring day. We had dinner at KaLui, it was a new experience dining in a restaurant barefooted.

The ambiance was nice and they served seafood only. Dessert was included. As soon as we went back to Microtel, everybody went to sleep, except for Ate Leyza, Niño and I. We walked near the bar and get ourselves one round of drinks before heading to bed.

Sunday, our last day in Palawan, we stayed in the hotel and beach for the morning before heading home.

It was a nice vacation because I was able to spend sometime with my brothers, Kuya Jojo and Niño together with Ate Leyza, Jaden, my favorite aunt Mama Ida, Mama Norma, cousin Kuya John and his family.

This trip will not be possible with the help from Skycrest Travel International. Their staff is so accommodating. They did all the bookings for the hotel and tours. They recommended eating at Kinabuch and Ka Lui.

Ace Water Spa - Pasig

My family and I tried the Ace Water Spa - Pasig Branch last January 22, 2012.  It is a Hydrotherapy Massage for the Whole Family.  It is an indoor facility that opens from 6 am to 11 pm.  We got there at 8 am.  As soon as we presented our vouchers, we where given our respective lockers. Upon entering the locker rooms, each one is given a head cap to be worn in the swimming pool area. The lockers are spacious for your things, and the shower rooms are clean, complete with shampoo and liquid soap. Their vanity mirror also has hair blowers and gels. You have to take a shower before entering the pool area. You have an option to bring a towel. There are so many things to do, aside from the basic lap pool, kiddie pool, lazy pool, inside the big pool are the different massages for certain body parts. You can choose if you want a soft, medium or hard massages.  It was so relaxing to be massage and in the water at the same time. They also have the herbal pools and a steam and sauna room. The maximum time that you are allowed to stay is 4 hours. It’s a fun alternative to bond with your family.  Rates for adults are P550.00 and Kids (4ft and below)  P250.00. Bringing of foods and taking pictures inside the pool are are prohibited.  The kids had a grand time that we are planning our next visit...together with my brothers :)

Beside the pool is the Ace Coffee Lounge.
