Last Friday, March 2, 2012 we went to Puerto Princesa, Palawan, It was the most awaited vacation since my brother willl be spending some RnR in the Philippines for just 2 ½ weeks. So I have to map out schedules to make the most out of it. It was supposed to be a 10-person vacation that ended up to 15…some were supposed to joined it but due to time and money constraints, it didn’t pushed through. Anyway, it was a first for everybody to be in Palawan. We have two flights going to Palawan; first team boarded Air Phil while the second, boarded Air Zest.
We all met in Microtel Puerto Princesa where we are staying for our vacation. The place was beautiful with the affordable room rates.
The beach was nice, since my children love to walk by the beach looking for hermit crabs and starfishes. Our trip was packed with schedules. After lunch we went on our city tour, we first went to Butterfly farm to heat things up. The girls enjoyed seeing the butterflies and other insects.
Then we headed to the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center where the crocodiles were staying. Josh and Jada had no qualms holding a crocodile and a Palawan bear cat.
We were able to see Valentino that was captured last Valentine’s day in the wild. Valentina was a no show since she was in the breeding site. Since everybody was hungry we went to Baker’s Hill where we enjoyed eating our snacks and enjoying the site. The last stop was Pasalubong center where everybody bought something for people in Manila and abroad. We passed by the Town’s cathedral but wasn’t able to step in due to attire restrictions. We ate at Kinabuch, Kuya Jojo ordered the woodworm or more commonly knows as Tamilok. A few of us; Kuya Jojo, Niño, Jada and I gamely tried the exotic food. They breaded and deep-fried it so it looks a little bit appetizing.
We had a fast dinner since the Microtel van was picking us up in an hour. Tricycle ride cost P150.00 so better ride in the free shuttle. Everybody was tired when we reached the hotel; some of us sip hot chocolate before heading to bed while Kuya John when on swimming by the hotel’s swimming pool before calling it a day.
Our second day, Saturday was divided into two groups. Kuya Jojo and Niño went to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, which was the Puerto Princesa Underground River.

Our group composed mainly by the kids went to Honda Bay for our island hopping.
Lunch was provided by the tours. It was a tiring day. We had dinner at KaLui, it was a new experience dining in a restaurant barefooted.
The ambiance was nice and they served seafood only. Dessert was included. As soon as we went back to Microtel, everybody went to sleep, except for Ate Leyza, Niño and I. We walked near the bar and get ourselves one round of drinks before heading to bed.
Sunday, our last day in Palawan, we stayed in the hotel and beach for the morning before heading home.
It was a nice vacation because I was able to spend sometime with my brothers, Kuya Jojo and Niño together with Ate Leyza, Jaden, my favorite aunt Mama Ida, Mama Norma, cousin Kuya John and his family.
This trip will not be possible with the help from Skycrest Travel
International. Their staff is so accommodating. They did all the bookings for
the hotel and tours. They recommended eating at Kinabuch and Ka Lui.
